My musical tastes have always been pretty eclectic. I tend to go more for the sound of the music than the lyrics of the song. Which isn't to say I don't enjoy the lyrics, it's just that I usually don't know what the heck artists are singing about until after I've heard the song a few times.
And, typically, I'll listen to a song more than once only if I enjoy it. Except country music I guess. I can pretty much tell what country singers are singing about, but that wasn't my point really.
I don't know where, but I came across a video for this band and I've just fallen in love with them. Head Automatica's first single of their new album, Propaganda, is Graduation Day. And while it's more pop than their other stuff apparently, their other stuff is really good too.
I remember in High School being a pretty big geek, but was lucky enough to have a wide array of friends from the other sci-fi geeks, to the tough guys in metal shop, to everyone in between. But I know for a lot of kids in High School it wasn't always that easy. And this video kind of uses that as the base for this single.
Okay, I have to point something out on the link in the next paragraph. When you go to this site the audio only version of Graduation Day automatically plays. So scroll to the top of the page and you'll see where the audio controls are (just like a VCR arrow pointing back, a square for stop and an arrow pointing forward) just click the stop button a couple of times and the music will stop. Then scroll down to the VIDEOS section and follow the instructions below.
Check out Graduation Day by clicking on the first link in the the left under the VIDEOS title and you'll see what I mean. The video will open in a new window.
I just love these guys!
